Coffee Date

What happens if your goofy brother inadvertently (or not!) sets you up on a date with the wrong gender? This clever romantic comedy follows Todd (Jonathan Bray), a recently divorced straight man, as he is set up on an internet coffee date with Kelly (Wilson Cruz of “My So-Called Life”), a gay hottie. After the initial shock of finding himself with another man, Todd realizes that he likes Kelly and the two men hit it off as friends. To get back at his brother, Todd brings his date home and pretends to have made a love match. The only problem is, everybody now believes that he’s gay! His mother joins pFLAG and the situation escalates from there. Friends and family embrace his newfound lifestyle and the chemistry between him and Kelly does nothing at all to help his predicament. Todd begins to wonder if there isn’t something to what everyone else is obviously convinced of: could he really be gay after all? – Rachel Popowcer (USA, 2005, 93 min, dir: Stewart Wade)
